Mārtiņš Sirmais
Martins Sirmais (born July 15, 1982)[1][2] is a Latvian orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the middle distance at the 2006 European Orienteering Championships in Otepää, and again at the 2008 European Orienteering Championships in Ventspils.[3]

Short description |
Martins started Orienteering sport in Kusa, district Madona, Latvia. In 1994 at age 14 while in grade 7 his first coach was Gunars Ikaunieks. He continued doing sports in track and field. His favourite discipline in athletics were 1500m and 3000m (9:19 at age 17 and there he lost 3sek to beat Madona gymnasium record). Then he was studying in Latvian Academy of Sport education (LSPA) from 2000. - 2005. and got his Bachelors degree.
